Anna:
Social justice is an act, a civilized fight that requires dedication to the issue you’re fighting against and the people being greatly affected by it. My first week at Social Justice high school consisted of juniors and seniors organizing a sit-in to get their principal, teachers, and AP classes back. Not only this, but a day of silence and a walk-out day to protest around the neighborhood about the educational injustices. Keeping in mind that this all happened not only in one week, but in my first week of being a student at Social Justice High School. I walked in already experiencing the act of social justice. The vision is to keep fighting this is what my peers did and they ended as the ones in power. |
Cristal:Social justice also imposes on each of us a personal responsibility to work with others to design and continually perfect our institutions as tools for personal and social development.
Social Justice isn't just a word. It's an act to seek for protection for all. Without a clear knowledge of what social justice is you don't know what to fight for. Poor communities have raised their voice to achieve and obtain justice. In our Little Village communities hunger strikers have fought endlessly, showing strong devotion, to receive a school for the community. But the fight hasn't stopped there, a group of young fighters struggled and voiced as a community to shut door a nearby Power Plant that only harmed our health. Social Justice has no age limit. |
